Need help with Bookpile? Here are answers to the most common questions.
In TikTok or Instagram, tap Share on a video and choose Bookpile. The app reads the caption and the cover shown in the video, recognises the book, and adds it to your pile. The first time, scroll the share row to "More" and enable Bookpile.
Recognition works best when the cover is visible or the title is in the caption. If nothing is found, try again (a second attempt often succeeds), or add the book manually from the Discover tab. When Bookpile isn't sure, it shows the top matches so one tap picks the right one.
Book data comes from Open Library, whose cover coverage is imperfect. When no cover exists, Bookpile prints its own typographic cover — the book itself is still correct.
Sign in with Apple in the You tab, claim a handle, then add friends by handle or invite link. Open Buddy read on the Friends tab, swipe your piles — if you both swipe yes on the same book, that's your next buddy read.
